19HFS T3 Inverter

Description

The 19HFS is Haier’s mainstream 1.5 ton T3 inverter, and the closest direct alternative to the Dawlance 30 series. The T3 rating is the reason to look at it.

Holding output in heat

A standard compressor sheds cooling capacity as outdoor ambient rises, which is why an air conditioner that seemed adequate in April struggles in June. The T3 specification means the compressor is built to hold output at high ambient. The practical result is a room that still reaches temperature on the worst afternoon of the year rather than sitting two degrees short with the compressor running continuously.

Capacity

1.5 ton, suited to roughly 150 to 250 square feet. Heat and cool, so it earns its place through winter as well, which matters more in this district than it does further south.

Coil protection

The condenser is 100% copper with anti-corrosion treatment. Copper conducts better than aluminium and stands up to humid, dusty and salt-laden air far longer, which is the usual cause of a condenser losing efficiency after a few seasons. The evaporator self-cleans to keep the indoor coil clear.

Refrigerant

R32, which has roughly a third the global warming potential of R410A and is marginally more efficient to run. It is also easier and cheaper to source for a top-up locally.
