Description

The Magna runs the same twin rotary T3 hardware as the Hyper T3, with identical published figures: 18,000 BTU/h, 6.7A cooling, 3.5 W/W. What you are choosing between is the finish.

The finish

The Magna’s indoor unit is textured milky white rather than the plain gloss of most splits. In a bedroom, mounted high, it makes little difference. In a living room at eye level it does, and it is worth looking at both on the floor before deciding, because photographs flatten the texture entirely.

Performance

18,000 BTU/h cooling and heating, with Super Cool lifting output to roughly 22,000 BTU/h for fast pull-down. Cooling efficiency 3.5 W/W at 6.7A, heating 3.06 W/W at 6.0A. Reversible, so it works through winter as well.

Power handling

Ampere Lock caps the current draw to a limit you set, which is useful on an older connection or a shared circuit. Solar compatible for running from an alternate supply. DC fan motors on both indoor and outdoor units.

Coils and airflow

Gold Fin on condenser and evaporator, self-cleaning evaporator, and 4D airflow with both horizontal and vertical swing. WindBlast, Jet Cool, sleep mode and an easily removable filter.
